Died Wednesday morning December 19, 2018 at her residence. Barbara was born March 5, 1949 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Garrett and Henrietta (Hoogerman) Mejeur. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Kalamazoo Gazette for over 30 years before retiring.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack VanDyk in 1978; and a daughter, Lisa VanDyk. She is survived by a daughter, Amy Lynn (Ronald LeBleu) VanDyk of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Hyde of Huntington Beach, CA; a niece; and several cousins.
