Barbara Jean Williams, 75, of Jacksonville, IL died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Barton W. Stone Home in Jacksonville.
She was born January 22, 1935 in Auburn, IL and is survived by her mother, Goldie Silveus Knifley of Jacksonville; a son, Dan Williams (wife, Ruth) of Ashland; two daughters, Becky Sargeant of Auburn and Bobbi Madison of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren, Travis Stegemann (wife, Liz) stationed with the US Army in Hawaii, Lindsey Stegemann of Pleasant Plains, Wes, Cody, Matthew, and Tyler Sargeant, all of Auburn, and Jared Klein (wife, Marianne) of Springfield; a half brother, Rick Knifley of Franklin; a niece; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Raymond Knifley, and her grandparents, Charles and Nona Silveus, in whose home she was raised.
Mrs. Williams was raised in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School. She was formerly employed at Mobil Chemical, Capitol Records, and Barton W. Stone Christian Home, all of Jacksonville. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jacksonville. She enjoyed country line dancing and collecting chicken memorabilia. For several years she was involved with her family in raising and showing Appaloosa horses.
