Barbara Jean Haggard Veldman, 79, of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, July 4, 2016. Barbara had lived most of her life in the Ringgold area and was a member of the Retired Military Officer’s Association and was a graduate of the University of Florida with a B.S. in Psychology. She was the owner and operator of the Steak House Restaurant in East Ridge for many years. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Veldman, parents, Hubert and Vera Dickson Haggard, son, Charles Chuck Cole, brothers, James Haggard, M.C. Haggard, Eddie Haggard, and Calvin Haggard, grandson, Eric Wooten; and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include daughters, Vanita (Eddie) Hullander, Ringgold, Yvonne “Susie” (Lamar) Wooten, Florida; brother, Mike Haggard, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Chasity, Chad, and Jahala; 4 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Lyssa, Kia, and Gracy.
