PLAINVILLE; Mrs. Barbara Jean (Bartley) Potter, 83, of Plainville passed away surrounded by her loving family Wednesday April 25, 2012, at her home. She was the widow of Edwin Robert Potter.
Mrs. Potter, known to her family and friends as “Jean,” was born January 10, 1929, in Westfield, Maine, a daughter of the late Henry Earl and Gladys Maria (Chase) Bartley and has been a longtime Plainville resident. She was a graduate of Plainville High School, Class of 1947, Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn, NY, and she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Governors State University in Park Forest South, Illinois, and a Master of Science Degree in Management from the Rensselaer Hartford Graduate Center in Hartford.
Jean leaves her daughters, Lynn Potter of Lansing, IL, Anita Potter and her husband Scott Dunn of Rocky Hill, and Carol Sisco and her husband Stuart of Southington; her sister Kathryn Dyer of Windham; her grandchildren, Kevin Sisco, Kayley Sisco, Kyle Sisco, Taryn Dunn and Tyler Dunn; and several nieces and nephews, whom she adored. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law Henry and Melina Bartley; brother, Elmer Chase Bartley; brother, Clayton Earl Bartley; brother, Lester John Bartley; brother and sister-in-law, Harold Hale and Delephine “Delly” Bartley Czerbinski; cousin, Sandra Cyr; and brother-in-law, Wilmot Dyer.
