Barbara “Jean” Brown, age 73, of Ringgold, Georgia, formerly of Dalton passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 21, 1944 in Cherokee County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Leon and Hester Pope Blalock; her sister, Ovelee Hartsfield; and brothers, Herbert and L. J. Blalock. Jean attended Valley Point School. She was married to Johnny L. Brown for 37 years until his death in 1999. She is survived by her children, Melinda (James) Baker of Tunnel Hill, Nathan (Pam) Brown of Ringgold, Beverly (Johnny) Brown of Varnell; grandchildren, Adam and Jason Baker, Johnny Brown, Jennifer Mullins, Dustin and Jeremy Talley, Jessica McGill; and grandchildren she helped raise, Aaron and Stephanie Brown; 14 great grandchildren; grand pup, Korrie; and life long friends, Carolyn Harris and Shelby Black; nieces and nephews also survive.
