Barbara Jane Leonhardt, 79, of Freeport, a resident of Oakley Courts, died Saturday, December 27, 2003, at Provena St. Joseph Center. Born August 20, 1924, in Freeport she was the daughter of Clem and Elva (Hill) Eberle.
She married Franklin A. Leonhardt on September 7, 1946, and he died on December 6, 2001. She was a graduate of St. Joseph School, Freeport High School, and Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a degree in journalism. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to Alaska, other parts of the United States, and Caribbean cruises. She loved to play cards and enjoyed her flower garden. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Surviving is her daughter, Linda A. Leonhardt of Manitou Springs, Colorado; special friend David Criddle of Freeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
