Barbara Jean (Snodgrass) Sargent, 86, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018. She resided at Aspen Trace in Greenwood for the last several years. She was born to Harry and Iva Snodgrass on November 21, 1931 in Indianapolis.
Barbara worked as an administrative assistant for the State of Indiana Professional Licensing Agency of Optometry Board for many years. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs. Barbara would make donations to the Humane Society in any way that she could. She loved painting, all her children and grandchildren have a piece that she had painted. Barbara was a member of the Greenwood Senior Citizens Center, and Friedens United Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her family.
Barbara is survived by her three children, Thomas Dean Sargent of Bethesda, Maryland, Claudia Sargent Lingeman of Westfield, and Jeff (Natalie) Sargent of Franklin; five grandchildren, Michael and Tommy Lingeman, Sara (Jacob) West, Kathryn (Zach) Jessen, and Andrea Sargent; two great-grandchildren, Tobias Lingeman and Adalynn Jessen, and a niece and nephew.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Iva Snodgrass; and her brother, George Snodgrass.
The family would like to thank the staff of Aspen Trace and Season Hospice for the compassion and kindness Barbara received while under their care.
