Barbara J. Nelson, age 86 of Salem, died at 5:10 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Alliance Community Hospital. She was born May 11, 1931 in Lackawanna, NY, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Elsie (Bigelow) Quick.
Barbara was Presbyterian by faith, and worked for the Ames Department Store Co, as an assistant manager, at various locations.
She was survived by 3 sons, John R. Nelson of Syracuse, NY, Kenneth Nelson of Boston, NY and Jesse Pierce Curry of Phoenix, AZ; 3 daughters, Barbara L. (Dean) Kifer of Canfield, OH, Judy D. Bouchard of Madawaska, ME and Terri Nelson of Buffalo, NY; 2 grandchildren, Cory Nelson and Kristoffer Bouchard; 2 sisters, Doris Rice of Springville, NY and Marilyn Failey of Collins Center, NY; 3 brothers Robert (Betty) Quick of Johnson City, TN, Richard Quick of Springville, NY and Carl Quick of Cowlesville, NY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Heather Bouchard, a sister, Mariann Mitchell, and brothers, Lloyd and Leon Quick.
