Barbara “Barbie” L. Horbert of Warwick, RI and Boca Raton, FL passed away on April 1, 2023, at the age of 88.
Barbie was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Raymond E. Horbert. She was the dedicated and loving mother of Steven R. West and his wife Delight of Coventry, Virginia L. Goldstein and her husband Jeffrey of Warwick and stepmother of Debra, Raymond Jr, Kenneth and Gary Horbert, all of Cranston.Cherished grandmother of Steven West Jr and Shayna Goldstein, step-grandmother to Raymond III, Melanie, Kenneth Jr, Kayleigh, Caitlyn, and Gary Jr Horbert, and great-grandmother of four.
Born in Boston, MA, Barbie was the daughter of the late Dwight and Ruth (Marr) Lowe. She was educated in Cranston schools and graduated from Bryant University, earning a Bachelor of Secretarial Science degree. Barbie was the President of Phi Sigma Sigma and maintained friendships with her sorority sisters throughout her life. During her career, she worked as a valued secretary for several institutions.
Barbie’s greatest love was her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She made sure special time was devoted to each child, and she loved them unconditionally. Barbie was the link in keeping the generations of family together.
Barbie always maintained a kind demeanor and her effervescent personality drew everyone close.
