Barbara Hesby, age 85, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019, peacefully at Accura Healthcare in Spirit Lake and is now with the love of her life and her heavenly family.
Barbara Ellen Hesby, the daughter of Herman Fred and Lulu Mae (Holmes) Hilderbrand, was born on June 8, 1933, in Oshkosh, Nebraska. On March 5, 1949, Barbara was united in marriage with Lyle Milton Hesby at the Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Barbara enjoyed crocheting Native American doll clothes for family and friends, painting, reading, and collecting butterflies. Left to cherish Barbara’s memory are her children, DiAnne Lynne Koob, and her husband Larry of St. Joseph, MN, Dennis Lyle Hesby of Federal Heights, CO, Deb Smeeth Kaye of Thunder Bay, ON, Delores Mae Kleine and her husband Dennis of Marshall, MN, Douglas Wayne Hesby and his wife Idella of Milford, Dee Rae Vortherms and her husband Dale of Spirit Lake, Danny Lee Hesby and his wife Karin of Rochester, MN and Dana Allan Hesby and his wife Betty of Spencer; 24 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Sandra Matta and her husband Norm of Munhall, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three children, Donna, Donnie, Dean, and her grandson Tommy Pederson.
