Barbara Helene Cooper, 91, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2009 at the Mt. View Manor in Eureka, Montana. She was born on February 19, 1918 in Santa Monica, California to Max Paul and Irene Theresa (Breen) Wielputz.

Barbara received her early education in Santa Monica graduating from high school there. She then worked in the family cutlery business for a while before going to work in the factories with her sister to support the war effort. Barbara met Edward Cooper in Laguna Beach, CA and they were married on September 1, 1944 in Niagara Falls, New York. After Edward separated from the military the family lived in San Francisco, Laguna Beach, and Paradise CA before retiring to Reno, Nevada in 1980. Edward passed away in 1984. Barbara loved Reno and remained there for 27 years before moving to Eureka to be close to her daughter.

Barbara was a strong and stoic little lady. She enjoyed cooking and collecting geodes to cut and polish into beautiful items. She also had a love of gardening and grew many African Violets for nearby businesses.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Eugene and one sister, Maxine. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Reynolds and significant other, Wayne; two half brothers, Max Paul Wielputz II and Benjamin Wielputz; one half sister, Elizabeth Gray; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
