Barbara Frances Gibson, 63, of Brandywine, MD, passed away on August 10, 2020 in Baltimore, MD. Barbara was born on October 27, 1956 in Washington, DC to the late Robert William and Edith Joan Collins Burke. Barbara had been a resident of Prince George’s County her entire life. She had been employed as a switchboard operator for several automobile dealerships. Her family described her as “a social butterfly” and a woman who was tidy, organized and very meticulous about her appearance. Barbara loved dancing and playing cards. She could usually be found enjoying one of her favorite snacks and a can of Pepsi. Barbara is survived by her son, Charles David Long, Jr. of Dundalk; daughter, Christine Caparella of Brandywine, MD; sisters, Pat (Dwight) Armiger of Prince Frederick, MD, Jo Anne Waltz of Hagerstown, MD and Theresa (Robert) Webster of Upper Marlboro, MD; two grandchildren, Tommy Caparella and Gracelyn Long and one great-granddaughter, Adriana Caparella. In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her brother, Robbie Burke and brother-in-law, Robin Waltz.
