Barbara Walker Florian, 76, of Salem, West Virginia, graduated from her earthly life to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 4, 2007. She was born May 15, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Joseph O. Walker and Dorothy Sheill Walker. She is survived by her husband of nearly 56 years, the Rev. Dr. Robert B. Florian, who she married on June 2,1951. Other survivors include: two daughters, Linda Neyhart (and husband Bill), Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, and Laura Moul, Milton, West Virginia; one son, Joseph Florian, Huntington, West Virginia; one grand-son, Matthew Neyhart (and wife Shannon), Woodward, Pennsylvania; one grand-daughter, Lisa Neyhart, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; one great-grand-son, Tanner Neyhart, Woodward, Pennsylvania; one cousin, Gordon Sheill, Ann Arbor, Michigan; two nieces, Dr. Carol Morrison (and husband Dr. Marco Straforini), Port Richmond, California, and Cindy Raposa and husband Rick), Burbank, California; two brothers-in-law, Sherwood Florian, Longboat Key, Florida, and Howard Florian (and wife Brenda), Enfield, Connecticut; one sister-in-¬law, Norine Florian, Falls Church, Virginia. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Ellen Walker and Virginia Morrison, and one brother, Richard Walker. Mrs. Florian attended Albion College and Adrian College, both in Michigan, and Lake Forest College in Illinois. She has lived in Salem since 1958, when her husband became a member of the Salem College faculty. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother. Her Christian faith sustained her in recent years during a long period in which her health conditions limited her activities. She loved to play the piano and served on many occasions as a church pianist, assisting her husband at various churches where he served as a pastor.
