Barbara Ellen (Travers) Zavodjancik, 70, of Middletown, wife of Thomas Stephen Zavodjancik of forty-five years, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Katherine (Kochan) Travers. Barbara was originally from Stratford where she was a 1965 graduate of Bunnell High School. She worked several jobs in the insurance industry before moving to Middletown in 1971. In Middletown, Barbara was a teachers’ aide at several schools and a substitute teacher at Vinal Technical High School. Along with her husband, Barbara is survived by two daughters, Sarah E. DeRita and her husband, Brian of Millerton, PA and Amy L. Barbuto of Camden-Wyoming, DE; her sister, Katherine Travers of CT; five grandchildren and several cousins and nephews.
