Barbara M. (Brescia) Curreri   November 13, 1931 – December 5, 2021

 

Barbara, having just turned 90, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, on December 5, at the Kaplan Hospice House, in Danvers.

 

Barbara was born and raised in Malden, MA. She was predeceased by her parents Anthony Brescia and Celia (Meuse) Brescia, her husband Franklyn Curreri, brother John Brescia and sister Molly Cessford.

 

She was the proud mother of three children, her late son Frank Curreri, daughter, Corinne Curreri-Moore, (her husband Craig Moore) of Rockport, MA, son Paul Curreri and grandson Paul Curreri Jr. of Peabody, MA, and her late grandson Frank Curreri Jr.

and her beloved Jack Russel, Kato.

 

It’s difficult to summarize someone’s entire life. Yet, if there was one word that would capture Barbara’s life, it would be selfless. Her complete unwavering love for her late husband Frank, and her loving children and grandchildren, and extended family, was demonstrated on a daily basis, right up to her final days.

 

 

Barbara was incredibly stoic, and yet she displayed such warmth. Her strength and courage made you feel safe when in her presence. The true matriarch of her family.

 

Known for her Italian cooking, her generosity and kindness were poured out with lovingly made dinners of delicious sauce, meatballs, and lasagna, just to name a few.

 

 

Barbara was very artistic and musical. She and her husband shared a common love and passion, for dance and big band music. Dancing in clubs, and jitterbugging their way from Boston to New York.

 

One of her cherished memories was working playing piano for guests dining at a local restaurant. She played the organ and piano beautifully, revealing her more sensitive and soulful nature.

 

Barbara’s deeply devoted love for her children and grandchildren was her life force that kept her strong and courageous, cultivating a mutual environment rich in love and admiration. It is undeniable that Barbara left a permanent mark on all those who knew her, and for this, she will be forever loved and missed.
