Barbara “Princess” Babcock Dixon Douglass, aged 80, died peacefully at home on Thursday, May 12. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Margaret Babcock, and a daughter, Robin Dixon Fourtney Domino.
Barbara lived in a number of places around the US and in 1974 came to New Orleans and embraced the city like an imported native. It loved her right back. Barbara had a talent for talking with people and making them her friend. She used this while working at the Quarter Stitch teaching people to knit and needlepoint and during her years of volunteer work at Lazarus House. She will be missed by all. Rest in Peace my lady.
