Barbara Ann Wisehart Wood, 72, Anderson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 19, 2009 at Community Hospital, Anderson after a brief illness of ovarian cancer.

She was born June 24, 1936 in Shirley, Indiana, and resided in this area most of her life having also lived in West Lafayette; Newton, Iowa, Muncie and Houston, Texas.

She was a graduate of Wilkinson High School and attended Olivet Nazarene College. She was a homemaker and had previously co-owned Wallcoverings Etc. in Chesterfield.

Barbara was a member of the Anderson 1st Church of the Nazarene. Barbara was a great decorator and an accomplished church pianist. She had a gift for helping and caring for older persons. She loved traveling and antiquing. She was the epitomy of hospitality, known for preparing and sharing homemade meals, pies and jellies. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

She is survived by her 1st husband, Larry Harlan of Houston, Texas; children, Pam Campbell & husband Kevin and their children, Madelynn, Taylor and John of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Cindy Swinford & husband Chris and their children, Sarah, Samantha and Sophia of Celle, Germany and Jeff Harlan of Indianapolis; brothers, Robert Wisehart & wife Gracie of Shirley and Joseph Wisehart & wife Sue of Chicago; former husband, Richard Wood of Fishers; stepdaughter, Joann Blevins & husband Dean & their daughter, Rachel of Olathe, Kansas; stepson, Dave Wood & wife Julie and his daughter, Emily of Anderson.

Barb’s children would like to express sincere thanks to close friend, Carolyn Dailey and cousins, Connie & Mike Mahoney for their loving care of their mother during her illness. Also surviving is an honorary granddaughter, Morgan Elizabeth, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Leone Sheets Wisehart; father & stepmother, Orville & Lovina Wisehart; three sisters, Lorene Mahoney, Ruth Hines and Martha Harvey Gerber.
