Barbara Veer passed away Sunday, October 6, at Colony Manor Creekside in Wasilla, AK. She and her husband, Leonard, moved to Alaska in August to live with their daughter and son-in-law. She was born Barbara Ann Joseph, on October 22, 1932, to Floyd and Cora (Nelson) Joseph at Corry, PA. She graduated from Corry High School and later from Practical Bible Training School in NY state. She accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour on April 15, 1951. Barbara met Leonard while she was working at a Children’s Home in Tennessee. They were married on July 20, 1957, and farmed with Leonard’s parents in ND for several years.

In April 1965 they moved to Karlstad, MN, where they raised their family and lived on their farm for 53 years, before moving to The Meadows in Karlstad in April 2018. Barbara enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, canning, and garage sales. She was especially known for her homemade pies and her sauerkraut. She loved feeding people, whether they were her family or friends and neighbors gathered around her dining room table. Barbara often served in the kitchen at the Karlstad Baptist Church and Heritage Christian School. She was an assistant cook at Lake Bronson Baptist Bible Camp for 11 years and served snacks for Awana Club for several years. Barbara also enjoyed participating in numerous ladies’ Bible studies over the years.

Barbara is survived by her husband Leonard Veer; son Philip (Diane) Veer of Milford, NH; daughters Peggy (Jim) Eymann of Palmer, AK and Vicky (Dan) Goldstrand of Lake Bronson, MN; grandchildren Craig Veer, Corey Veer (Tia McLean), Micheal (Melissa) Eymann, Matthew Eymann, Evan Veer (Chelsey Hanson), Justine Teie, Destiny (Brady) Schmeideberg, Dylan Hayes, Damian Teie, Maria Eymann, Ian Veer, Jesse, Gracie, and Glorie Goldstrand; great-grandchildren Trent, Aria, Makenna, Braxtyn, Emery, Wesley, Addilynn, Aiden and Skyla; sisters Marie Gregory and Betty Chase; in-laws John Stormer, Tom and Fern Veer, Tom and Jean Thompson, Faye Veer, and Bob and Vivian Welsh; and numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; sister Dorothy Stormer; in-laws Jacob and Isabel Veer, Harold Chase, Larry Veer; and several grandchildren.
