Barbara Ann Joy, 62, of Franklin, went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2016. She was born on October 29th, 1953, in Connersville, Indiana to Robert and Patricia (Sullivan) Joy.
Barbara was employed at the Boys & Girls Club of Franklin, Indiana. She retired recently in September, 2015. She also worked for Goodwill Industrial Division, in 1991, where she received the Achiever of the Year award, in 1995. Other past employment included a stint at Regin Manufacturing, in 1994.
Barbara received a Team’s Choice award, in 2001, from Gateway Services. She attended Friendship Baptist Church. Barbara enjoyed shopping and visiting with family and friends. Her love though, was working with children. Barbara loved her family and was loved by many; she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include two brothers, Steve Joy and Danny (Shelia) Joy, all of Indianapolis. A sister, Karen (Robert) Saverd of Florida. She also has several nieces and nephews. Her caregivers; Jody Mason of Whiteland and Heather George of Franklin who she considered as her adopted family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Patricia Joy and two brothers, Brian and David Joy.
