Barbara Ann Gilbert Daoust was born on October 6th, 1941, in Dearborn, Michigan. She is survived by her husband Raymond Daoust and her five children: Paula Rutt (Joe), Stacy Klibanoff (Alan), David Daoust (Elyse), Molly Beresford (Andy), and Joyce Daoust (Heather). Barb was blessed with 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and another one on the way. She is also survived by her older sister, Joyce Addison.
Barb and Ray met on a blind date in 1958 during their senior year of High School and recently celebrated their 60th Wedding anniversary. Barb was a first –generation college graduate from the University of Michigan. She graduated in 1977 with 5 children by her side. Barb devoted her life to her family and the Catholic community. She was a Benedictine Oblate. Barb and Ray served communion to the homebound and provided families with dignity and relief for over 20 years with St.
Barb and Ray’s love was cultivated by attending a Marriage Encounter retreat and Cursillo in 1970. They continued to strengthen their bond by mentoring engaged couples and being co-rectors at Catholic retreats in Michigan.
Barb was an avid card player and loved to play board games. She also loved a good romance novel or movie.
Barb’s last wish before she passed away was to be cared for by her family. She was surrounded by her family at the end and passed away peacefully at home.
