Barbara Ann Evans, age 40, of Sandoval passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016, at her home. She was born on April 4, 1976, in Modesto, California the daughter of Earl Higgins Sr. and Barbara (Finckbone) Higgins.
She married Troy Evans Jr. on May 28, 1994, and they had two children then later divorced.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters: Sarah Ann and Courtney Amber Evans of Sandoval, IL; Significant other: Jeff Whitehouse of Sandoval, IL; Step-Father and Uncle Hershel Higgins Sr. of Walnut Hill; six brothers: James Higgins and wife Lisa of Centralia, Bill Higgins and wife April of Centralia, Craig Bitter of Carlyle, David Higgins of Shobonier, Earl Higgins Jr. of Shobonier, and Hershel Higgins Jr. and wife Nicole of Troy, MO; five sisters: Jerrie Brown of Woodlawn, Terri Harre and husband Rick of Shobonier, Marie Taylor and husband Donald of Shobonier, and Kimberly Clark of Maynard, Arkansas; special friend, Wilma Ward of Illinois; aunts and uncles of Walnut Hill, Centralia, and California; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Higgins, Sr., father-in-law: George Mays, sister: Patricia Higgins, nephew: Logan Leroy Brown, grandparents: Roy and Peggy (Atchison) Finckbone and Eddie Higgins, Sr., and Ethel (Parks) Higgins Cole, step-grandfather: Oral G. Cole, special friend: Travis Bierman. Barbara worked at Warren G. Murray Center for the past 9 years, where she enjoyed taking care of residents of Elm Cottage. She enjoyed the company of her co-workers, Jamie Sodko, Lindsey Branson, Michelle Hawkins, Sandy Kennedy, Billie Miller, Lori Novack, and the grandmas that volunteered. Barbara enjoyed playing slot machines. Most of all her greatest enjoyment was her two daughters, her three fur babies: Roko, Bailey, Midnight, family, and friends.
