BARBARA V. “MIMI” ALLISON, 84, OF TEMPLE, PASSED AWAY AT BAYLOR SCOTT&WHITE HOSPITAL FEBRUARY 25, 2019.

BARBARA “MIMI” WAS BORN JUNE 1, 1934, IN DALLAS, TEXAS TO W.O. AND EVERLYN HOLTON. SHE WAS THE ELDEST OF 5 CHILDREN. SHE ATTENDED SUNSET HIGH SCHOOL IN DALLAS, AND SHE WORKED  IN THE BANKING INDUSTRY AND FOLLOWED HER PASSION OF REAL ESTATE AND INTERIOR DESIGN.  SHE WORKED FOR CENTURY 21 MARKETING HIGH RISE APARTMENTS (TURTLE CREEK) AS A REALTOR. SHE MARRIED DR. ROBERT D. ALLISON IN 1981 AND WORKED BESIDE HIM FROM 1981 TO 2008 AS CORPORATE SECRETARY FOR QUANTITATIVE VASCULAR DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES, INC, AN INDEPENDENT DIAGNOSTIC TESTING FACILITY (IDTF).

SHE WAS A MARVELOUS COOK WHICH INSPIRED HER TO WRITE A 226 PAGE COOKBOOK OF FAMILY RECIPES BORDERED BY PERSONAL, FAMILY AND FRIEND’S STORIES RELATED TO THE RECIPES. SHE WAS AN EXCELLENT SEAMSTRESS AND AUTHOR OF A BOOK DESCRIBING HER GRANDPARENTS’ TRAVEL EXPERIENCES FROM ALABAMA TO HICO, TEXAS IN THE LATE 1800’s. SHE WAS AN ACCOMPLISHED ARTIST- OIL, WATER AND ACRYLIC, ENJOYING HER TIME WITH HER SISTER PAINTING CHINA AND BIRD HOUSES.  SHE RECENTLY DISPLAYED SEVERAL PAINTINGS AT THE TEMPLE CULTURAL ACTIVITIES CENTER. SHE LOVED THE BEACH, BOATING, FISHING AND CAMPING. SHE ENJOYED PLAYING “HAND AND FOOT” WITH HER DAD AND SISTERS AND SCRABBLE WITH HER GRANDCHILDREN WHOM SHE LOVED DEARLY.  HER WONDERFUL SENSE OF HUMOR WAS ALWAYS FOLLOWED WITH HER LOVE OF LAUGHING.

SHE WAS A DEVOUT CHRISTIAN WOMAN AND GREW IN HER FAITH ATTENDING BIBLE STUDY FELLOWSHIP (BSF) SESSIONS FOR OVER 16 YEARS. SHE WAS AN AVID READER OF THE BIBLE AND AN INCREDIBLE EXAMPLE FOR HER CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN. SHE WAS DEFINITELY HER HUSBAND’S SOULMATE AND “SWEETIE”.

SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS AND SON, ROBERT G. ALLISON. SURVIVORS INCLUDE HER HUSBAND, DR.ROBERT D. ALLISON OF TEMPLE; THREE SISTERS, SHIRLEY PACKER AND HUSBAND JERRY, OF ROCKWALL; JAN MATLOCK AND HUSBAND STEVE OF KEMPNER;  LINDA CHAMPLIN AND HUSBAND JOE OF COPPERAS COVE; ONE BROTHER, BILL HOLTON, OF SAN PABLO, CALIFORNIA; CHILDREN: CHERYL GUTHMANN AND HUSBAND BRUCE, OF FRISCO;  VALERIE HARDING OF DALLAS;  JOHNNY DEE DYER AND WIFE KATHY OF KEMP; EMILY(ALLISON) MIKESKA AND HUSBAND RONNY OF TEMPLE;  MAGGIE (ALLISON) RITZ AND HUSBAND RUSTY OF HOUSTON;  DAUGHTER-IN-LAW LINDSEY (MCFARLAND) ALLISON OF BELTON;  GRANDCHILDREN: LAUREN HENDERSON AND HUSBAND TYLER OF LUBBOCK;  LANE AND LANDON GUTHMANN OF DALLAS;  SYDNEY HARDING OF DENTON;  DANIEL DYER AND WIFE LEAH; NOAH DYER, AMOS DYER AND ROSCOE DYER OF AUSTIN;  CLAYTON ALLISON OF BELTON;  RUSTIN MIKESKA OF HOUSTON; WHITNEY POLK AND HUSBAND ZAC, RANDA MIKESKA AND BRADY ALLISON ALL OF TEMPLE;  COOPER RITZ OF COLLEGE STATION; CARSON RITZ OF HOUSTON; GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: ELLA SOPHIA DYER AND GRIFFIN DYER OF AUSTIN AND MADDUX POLK OF TEMPLE.
