Ms. Barbara Faye Allen, the daughter of John and Ida Mae Langford, was born November 22, 1943, in Richmond, Indiana. She departed this life on June 1, 2019, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She attended pubic school in Richmond, Indiana.
She was employed for almost thirty years with David A Noyes, an investment firm in Indianapolis, retiring more than ten years ago. Barbara’s greatest gift was her ability to make people laugh and her fashion. She was loved by everyone and would give her “last” to help anyone, even a stranger.
Barbara was married to Charles M. Allen for more than twenty-five years before their divorce. She leaves to cherish her memories two children, John A. “Tony” Allen and Krish R. Allen; three grandchildren, Lachon L. Allen, Duwan Byers, and Sincere Shanks; three great-grandchildren Amari Hutchinson, Daylin Lewis, and Nevaeh Byers; two nephews, Jeffrey Lynn Williams and Radley Harlin, and a host of other nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She also leaves a loving and supportive sister, Frances E. Williams, and was preceded in death by her late sister, Rose Harlin.
Through her sickness, Barbara never complained and never lost her faith in the lord. She will be missed on earth, but cherished in heaven. Her smile and laughter was contagious and will forever be embedded in the memories of people she touched through life. Her favorite gospel song was, “ I Won’t Complain.”
For this is a journey that we all must take! Each must go it alone.
Take the love I gave and carry it forward, for I will see you in heaven my beloved.
