Barbara Aleksandra Podkowiak, 90, of New Britain, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanislaw Podkowiak. Born in Truskaw, Poland, daughter of the late Jan and Zofia (Szczesniak) Gromadka, she came to the U.S. in 1977 and was a New Britain resident ever since. Barbara was a devout parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she leaves her children, Jerzy Podkowiak and his wife Emilia and Ewa Komajda and her husband Roman, her grandchildren: Christopher, Thomas and his wife Victoria, and Marta, and her great grandchildren: Antonina and Jerzy. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Joasia Komajda, and her two sisters, Bronislawa and Jadwiga.
