Barbara Ann Deveau, 82, of Milford, CT, beloved wife of the late J. Lawrence (Larry) Deveau, entered into eternal rest on November 14, 2014. Born on May 8, 1932 in Norwich, CT, she was the daughter of the late Irving and Clarissa Rankin.
She was a graduate of St. Josephs College in West Hartford, CT and was a registered nurse. She married Larry in 1954 and started their life together in Willimantic, CT. Over the course of the next 30 years, she and her family moved throughout the northeast including Oxford, MA, Dudley, MA, Burlington, VT, Framingham, MA, North Stonington, CT, Succasunna, NJ, and finally Milford, CT where she resided for the past 30 years. She raised seven children and was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren’s activities, especially sports. She was an enthusiastic supporter of UCONN Women’s basketball.
She is survived by her sister Joyce (Donald) Anderson, daughters Janine (David) Benn, Catherine (Robert) Rodman, and sons James (Laurie), David (Wendy), and Steven (Jennifer), 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her brother John Houghton, daughter Marie and son Paul.
