Badai Sankar passed away on September 13th, 2021. For all his life, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Badai Sankar was the husband of the late Jessoda Badai. Together, they had five children: Seeta, Sattie (Sandy), Jaio, Ramo, and the late Dilip. He also became father-in-law to the late Leslie Chinan, Nand Doobay, Jean Badai, and Indra Badai. He was a grandfather to his four grandchildren Nirvana Ramcharran, Sandy and Sasha Badai, and Sandeep Badai, as well as his two great-grandchildren, Evan and Aiden Ramcharran. Along with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, he is survived by his two sisters and his fourteen nieces and nephews.
When Badai Sankar was living in Guyana, he was a boat captain for most of his early life. For many years after he lost his leg in a boating accident, he continued to be a captain. Later, he and his wife immigrated to the United States in January 1990, and they eventually settled in North Texas in 1993. In life, he loved cooking, planting in his garden, fishing, playing dominos, and telling stories with loved ones, and he always enjoyed spending time with children, especially his grandchildren.
