B.J. ”Whitey” Whitehurst, 80, Anderson, died September 2, 2005 at Manor Care, Anderson after an extended illness.
He was born April 9, 1925 in Heber Springs, Arkansas, and was a resident of this area since 1944. He retired in 1987 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 42 years as a tool & die maker. He served his country in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of Parkview Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife whom he married August 1, 1944, Geraldine Bell Whitehurst; three children, Larry & wife Doris Whitehurst of Anderson, Paula & husband Jerry Lomax of Daleville, Alabama and Chris Whitehurst of Anderson; a sister, Ellavan Adcock of Burrows, Indiana; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben & Lura Adcock Whitehurst; four brothers, twins Elbert Whitehurst and Albert Whitehurst, John L. Whitehurst and Hezikiah Whithurst; and three sisters, Zelia Ghent, Beulah McCourt and Wilma Webb.
