Awa was a beautiful soul who was admired and adored by his family and friends.

Awa’s life was extraordinary. He lived in a world where very few understood him. Then again, very seldom do we acknowledge the greatness in people until death unveils the impact of their lives. Both Awa’s life and death have had a reverberating impact. His untimely death can never negate all the good memories cycling through each of our minds and hearts. Although we continue this journey without him, his legacy can never be diminished nor forgotten.

The very thought of human impermanence forces us to face the truth of existence: We will all die one day. This inescapable truth should remind us daily of the importance of finding value in the work that we do and our personal responsibility, when feasible, to help enrich the lives of others.

Awa is survived by parents, Uma and Patience Ebi, and siblings, Okechukwu, Chukwuma, Nnate, and Ezinne Ebi. We are proud to have called him Son, Brother, and Friend. We honor his life by choosing to live fearlessly and by doing all the things he always wished he had the courage to do.

A LETTER TO AWA FROM HIS FAMILY

We are writing to let you know how much we miss you with all of our hearts. We do not know why you had to go untimely, but God knows why. In the mist of grief, we reconcile our sorrow by knowing that all things work together for the good to those who love God. In spite of this understanding, we wish so much to feel your presence again. We know someday we will see you again in Jesus name.

You will never be forgotten.  Even after death, our love for you will never cease.

We know that you are with the LORD in heaven now.

We love you dearly, deeply, and sincerely.
