Avery Ray Vandergrift, 70 of Grafton passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born January 28, 1947 in Fairmont, WV. a son of the late Leonard and Grace Biddle Vandergrift. Avery is survived by his loving wife Charlotte Hart Vandergrift, they were united in marriage August 21, 1977.
He was retired from Minnotte Machine Shop, Fairmont, loved to work on cars, hunt cutting fire wood, and working in his beautiful yard, and being with his grandchildren.
Avery is survived by one son, Brian Ray Vandergrift and Fiancé Melissa Lytle, Grafton, two grandsons, Leeland Vandergrift and Christopher Lytle, one sister, Helen Little and husband Gary Bridgeport, two brothers, Tommy Vandergrift, Bridgeport, Leonard Darrell Vandergrift and wife Pam, Grafton one sister-in-law, Helen Hart, Grafton. several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence (Ike) Vandergrift,
