On Monday, December 12, 2022, our dear, beloved Aveline “Abby” Isom transitioned from her earthly residence to her permanent heavenly home. Abby was 61 years old. She was preceded in heaven by her parents, Lyddell and Elsie Isom, and her sister Avis Isom. She leaves to cherish her memory her siblings, Linda Vines, Paula Burnett, Bernard “Junie-boy” Singleton, Vivian “Diane” Jackson, a special brother-in-law Larry Vines Sr., and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and the brothers and sisters of her home church, Overcoming Church of Gaithersburg, Md.
Abby was born in Washington DC and grew up primarily in Hillcrest Heights, MD. She graduated from Potomac High School and obtained her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from VA State University, May 1983. As a social worker, Abby was dedicated to helping individuals and families improve their quality of life in numerous ways.
