Suddenly and tragically, on Decmber 3, 2018, Austin Jay Sexton left this life to be with his Lord and Savior. He was only 22 years old.
Born in Severn, Maryland, to Sean Micheal and Francis Renee’ (nee Campbell), he would spend the entirety of his days in that same area.
Austin was a dedicated sports fan and it was said, ” he loved two things; the Lord and sports.” He was a member of the Redemption House Ministry where he volunteered at The Cave, an outreach for local youth. His other volunteer work included working a snack stand at the Ravens stadium. Austin was very found of Orioles Baseball and the Washington Redskins football teams. When he wasn’t engaged in activities outside of his home, he would spend leisure time playing X-Box or Play Station games.
He had a “shared passion with his father Sean, for the Green Bay Packers,” and a combined love for Aaron Rodgers, quarterback of the Packers.
Austin shared his mother Renee’s sense of humor, and as she put it, ” he could make anybody laugh and was known for being a prankster.”
Of his surviving family, it was noted that his niece “Baby Girl,” Paisley Sexton and his Nephew “Bubba,” Willie Ewald, III were the “apples of his eye.”
He is also survived by his dear mother Renee and her husband William Mills, his father Sean M. Sexton and his wife Patty, as well as dedicated grandparents, Linda Sexton (nee Hunt) and her late husband Dennis, Jay and Doris (nee Collins) Campbell and Goldie (nee Ratcliff) and Gary Royston. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Nancy Harrell who knew him as the apple of her eye.
Austin leaves behind his devoted twin brother Coty Sexton and three loving sisters Stephanie Ewald and her husband William, Shannon Sexton and Rebecca Sexton.
Finally he is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a number of dedicated friends.
He will be sorely missed but the family expressed that, “they were comforted by the Lord,” even in this time of tragedy. Their hope is in the Lord, that whoever trust in Jesus will have eternal life. Austin knew Jesus well; if we put our trust in Him we will see Austin again.
