Aurora Urbina, age 91, of Los Indios, Texas passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022. She was born March 12, 1930, in San Benito, Texas to Loreto Yzaguirre and Catarina Garcia Yzaguirre.
Our mom was a woman full of life whose inner light shined brightly for all to see. She loved God, her family, her Church, and her community.
Mom was a woman of great faith who prayed everyday without ceasing, even throughout her illness when at times her pain was intolerable. Her children are forever grateful for her spiritual teachings and constant examples to love God above all things.
Our mom was a caregiver at heart who spent countless hours taking care of sick family members and close friends. She believed in glorifying God through good works and clothed and fed the needy, often giving them her last dollar.
She loved the parish community at Sacred Heart Church in Las Rusias and managed the alter and tended to the needs of the assigned priests for many years.
We will miss our mother dearly.
Mom is preceded in death by her father Loreto Yzaguirre, her mother Catalina Garcia Yzaguirre, her brothers Encarnacion Yzaguirre, Adan Yzaguirre, and Loreto Yzaguirre, sister Petra Zuniga, and 9 grand dogs.
Aurora leaves behind her loving husband of over 60 years Angel Urbina Sr., daughters Velma Rodriguez (Rudy), Maria DeFord (Neal), Angie Guerra (Willie), Norma Alvarado (Paul), Chris Garcia (Joe), Sue Serna, Ludy Maldonado, and sons, Angel Urbina Jr. (Monica), Valdo Maldonado, and Jesse Maldonado (Monica), and 31 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, and 8 grand dogs.
The family wishes to thank daughter Velma Rodriguez for honoring our mom’s request that Velma be mom’s caregiver during the final weeks of her life. Our family is forever grateful to Velma for her loving care and unfailing dedication to our mom.
