Our beloved mother Aurelia Moreno, age 89 was called by her heavenly father on January 6, 2015 at community Memorial Hospital. She was accompanied by one of her daughters Leticia.
Now resting in peace with the Lord and her beloved husband Joe Z. Moreno, son Andy Moreno, and grandson Joseph Renteria. Mom also joins her parents Ramon and Isabel Garcia. Siblings Susana Garcia, Ramon Garcia, and Benito Garcia.
In 1945 mom moved to Oxnard to live with her sister Cecilia. Met our father in 1949. They were married October 13, 1951 and enjoyed 52 years together until his death in 2004.
Mom worked at Seaboard Lemon Association in Oxnard for 49 years retiring in 1996.
Mom loved camping and as a family we traveled all over California in our new 1965 pick-up camper.
Also included two vacations to Mexico. She still went camping into her 80’s the last being in July 2014.
She was an excellent hostess. She enjoyed cooking authentic Mexican meals. Til this day friends and relatives still talk about her Christmas red and green tamales, chile relleno, and who could resist her atole.
Mom was very unselfish with her family. She would help her sibling’s in time of need. In 1961 she brought her sisters four young children to live with us when my aunt became ill. Besides her four children, mom and dad took care of their nephew and nieces. When my aunt became healthy, our cousins returned home.
