Augusta E. Drinkard, age 94, of Trussville, Alabama passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020. Born October 17, 1925 in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was a graduate of Uniontown High School and attended Alabama Poly Tech (now Auburn University). Augusta was a member of Trussville United Methodist Church. She was a member of the UMW, the Characters Builders Sunday School class, where she played the piano occasionally. She was an avid knitter with a group of knitters known as the Knit Wits; she loved to play canasta with a group of her friends, enjoyed sewing, travelling, attending Auburn football games, and watching Atlanta Braves baseball on TV. Augusta was a bookkeeper for Jones Lawless and Wrangler Ranch for many years.
Proceeded in death by her parents Milner and Augusta Sieburg Eskew, husband Walter Drinkard of 58 years; stepmother Gertrude Eskew; brother, Milner Eskew; stepbrother Kirk Scott; son-in-law Don Hale.
Augusta is survived by her son Alan (Nancy) Drinkard; daughter Nancy Drinkard Hale; stepbrother Frank (Ronnie) Scott; grandchildren Mickey Drinkard (Donnie Beard), Christy Coulter (Steven Keeth), Blake (Kelli) Coulter, David (DeDe) Markle, Stephen (Jennifer) Markle, Kelly (Freddie) Pate, fourteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
