Audrey Murrell, affectionately known as “Aunt Audrey”, was born on February 9, 1955 in Gulfport, Mississippi. Audrey graduated high school in 1973, in Indianapolis, IN, at Arlington High School. Afterwards she moved and resided in Dallas, TX and Columbus, OH. She later came back to Indianapolis, IN, where she retired from the Stateof Indiana.
Aunt Audrey enjoyed the holidays when she would make her famous sweet potato pies, caramel cakes, and cheesecakes. Her passion was going “up the road”, as she would call it, with family. She also enjoyed going to hear various gospel quartet groups around the city.
Aunt Audrey was the most understanding and loving person you could meet. She was always willing to help anybody at any time and did it with the most beautiful smile. She loved being a blessing.
Aunt Audrey’s proudest accomplishment in her life was being able to be there for her family and enjoy seeing her nieces and nephews grow up. One of the most funny and favorite memories of Audrey was her ability to be honest with no holds barred. Her heart of gold made every critique a term of endearment.
Aunt Audrey passed away, Sunday, February 21, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father: Clarence Murrell Sr.; mother: Susan Murrell and sister: Mary Murrell. She leaves to cherish her memory: four brothers: Clarence Murrell Jr (Marie Murrell)., Jerry Murrell, Santee Murrell Sr.(Charlotte Murrell), Ezzel Michael Tigner-Murrell (Amber Murrell); one sister: Charlotte Harmon and a host of nieces and nephews. There is no other way to describe her than as a person with a heart of gold. Her life and legacy will be remembered.
