Audrey Meado, 74, of South Jacksonville and formerly of Hillview, died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Barton W. Stone Home. She was born Aug. 7, 1935, in Walkerville, the daughter of Otis and Anna Willis Staats. She married Robert “Bob” Meado on March 20, 1959, in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on April 20, 2010.
She is survived by one sister, Doris (Clyde) Reno of White Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son and one daughter in infancy; and two brothers, Darrell (surviving wife Viola of Roodhouse) and Gib Staats.
Mrs. Meado graduated from Hillview High School. She worked for the Blackhawk Restaurant in Jacksonville for approximately 20 years. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, she and her husband owned and operated The Ranch House in South Jacksonville. Audrey attended Hillview Baptist Church. Her interests included sewing, reading, and spending time with her family.
