Audrey M. Johnson, age 95, of Milford, beloved wife of E. Harvey Johnson, died at Milford Hospital on Sunday May 20, 2012. The daughter of George White and Emilie Kemler White, she was born August 6, 1916 in Brooklyn, N.Y. She spent summers at the family’s cottage in Milford, where she developed her lifelong love of the beach. After graduating from Erasmus Hall High School she moved to Milford with her mother and stepfather Charlie Wall. A graduate of Larsen Junior College, Audrey worked in the clerical department at General Electric and Yale University.
In addition to Harvey, her husband of 63 years; she is survived by her son Robert Johnson and his wife Patricia of Branford; daughter Linda J. Winton of Warwick, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Downey of Milford; granddaughters Pamela Downey, Karen Walker, Kim Pilvelait, Jacqueline Meneo and Mary Ellen Luth; grandsons William Malcolm and Britton Johnson, and fifteen great- grandchildren. Audrey was predeceased by her son, John Downey.
