Astrid Celest (Benson) Bengtson, 83, of Middletown, wife of the late Allen F. Bengtson, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Cecile (Menard) Benson. Astrid graduated Woodrow Wilson High School where she was Captain of the cheerleading squad and went on to graduate from UCONN. She taught math at Woodrow Wilson Junior High School for twenty-five years and coached their cheerleading squad.
