Ashvin James Slaughter, age 24, passed away while on military duty at Fort Wainwright, Alaska the morning of Friday, January 18, 2019. Born on February 19, 1994 in Paris, France; Ashvin was a loveable, practical prankster to his younger sister Jade, unparalleled partner in the board game Cranium to his older brother Ashley, championing challenger in chess to his father Andrew, and the cuddliest of teddy bears to his mother Jaimala.
The legend of the Waffle Bus, Ashvin’s skill on the grill was undeniable, serving out delicious fare and smiles to all he came across. Ashvin loved adventuring out in nature (most recently having climbed Mt. Fuji in Japan), watching science fiction (especially Star Wars), and carving back and forth on a longboard or snowboard. Ashvin will most be remembered by his friends and family for his humongous heart as he was always quick to lend a hand or ear to those in need. We will always carry you in our hearts, Ashvin.
