Muncie – Raymond Lester Ashbaugh, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at his residence following a brief illness.
Raymond was born in Muncie on July 30, 1929, the son of Raymond A. and Edna (Holman) Ashbaugh, and attended Muncie Schools.
Mr. Ashbaugh was an inspector for Muncie Chevrolet where he worked for over 36 years, until his retirement in 1984.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta J. Ashbaugh, Muncie; two sons, David Ashbaugh, (wife-Judy), Greenfield; and James Ashbaugh, (wife-Becky), Muncie; a daughter, Patricia Puckett, (husband-James), Salyersville, Kentucky; eleven grandchildren, Kim Moore, (husband-Charles), Markleville; Kristy Smith, Jeffersonville; Brian Ashbaugh, Greenfield; James Puckett Jr., (wife-Becky) Salyersville, Kentucky; Tricia Puckett, Salyersville, Kentucky; Joshua Puckett, (wife-Lisa), Salyersville, Kentucky; Tracy Springer, Muncie; Dawn Taylor, (husband-Greg), Muncie; James Ashbaugh Jr., (wife-Penny), Lynn; Darren Campbell, (wife-Stephenie), Tipton; and Andrew Gabbard, (fiancée-Amanda Raney), Muncie; twenty-five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; his mother, Edna (Holman) Ashbaugh-Bennett, four brothers, James, Kenneth, Floyd Ashbaugh, and George Bennett; two sisters, Betty Jones, and Glenna Shinnock; and two grandchildren, Travis Puckett and John Gabbard.
