Clearfield, UT – Arwid H. “Bud” Carey, age 96, died December 11, 2016 following a brief illness at his home surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Carey was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Dorean. He is survived by a half-brother Merlin Carey of Nebraska, four children: M. Wayne Carey of Washington D.C.,
Dwight E. Carey of Twin Falls, lD, Robert D. Carey of Holladay, UT and Dorinda M. “Dee” Carey of Sunset, UT. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Jennifer Carey Hannun,
Boise, lD, Amanda Carey Lee, Boise, lD, Justin Carey, Boise, lD, Amber Carey Madsen,
Murray, UT, and Andrew Carey, Rye, NY, and 11 great grandchildren numerous friends, Scouts and little league baseball and basketball players.
Bud was born August 30, 1920 in Olivet, SD and was raised in South Dakota, Nebraska and
Oregon. He was a veteran of World War ll and the Korean War. He was the eldest of three children of Merle M. Carey and Addie Patterson Carey. As a child, he grew up on the family farms in South Dakota and Nebraska and learned to work on cars from his father, who ran the local mechanic’s shop in Mitchell, SD.
