Arun Raj
October 9, 1953 ~ August 19, 2022 (age 68)

Arun Raj, 68, of Apollo Beach, Florida passed away on August 19, 2022 due to complications from bypass surgery. For 13 years after his birth, he was the youngest of three brothers, and was lovingly called “Baby,” a nickname that stuck till this day. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his father, Bhoj Raj (First Secretary in Washington DC, Indian High Commissioner in Africa, and Consul General to USSR), and his mother, Laj Vati. He is survived by his wife, Brenda, children; Oliver (Abigail), Anjali, Sterling Adlakha (Jenny), Sheldon Adlakha, brothers; Vijay (Annie), Anil (Sheri), and Ajay (Dhooleka).

He has a large, tight-knit family and group of friends, and they are a credit to him to this day.
He loved socializing and belonged to Tampa Travel & Meetup, European & International Meetup, neighborhood and stock market groups in Virginia and Florida. He loved to travel, and toured: India, Nepal, Japan, France, Italy, England, Denmark, Scotland, Thailand, Hong Kong, Egypt, Mexico, Canada, Bahamas, and The Virgin Islands.

One of Arun’s biggest accomplishments was being a father. He always wanted children and considered himself lucky to have them. His children consider him a role model. He was always there for them through their “ups” and “downs,” and taught them to navigate life’s challenges through sage advice. He was especially looking forward to meeting his next grandchild, who is predicted to be born on his 69th birthday.
