It is with great sadness that the family of Arturo R. Santana announces his passing after a brief illness, on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at the age of 88. He passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family. Arturo was born in El Limon, Jalisco (Mexico). Arturo will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Gloria and his children, Arturo (Liz), Ruben (Maria), Armando, Alberto (Lenette), Alfredo, Arturo (Priscilla), Alejandro (Noelia), and Adrian. Arturo will also be fondly remembered by his nine grandchildren: Andrew, Daniela, Paulina, Ruben, Leeann, Juliana, Codi, Krislen, Angelina and two great grandchildren: Itzel and Sebastian; and by his brother, Efren (Leonor); his sister-in-law Irma and numerous nieces and nephews. Arturo was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Maria De La Luz; his brothers Salvador, Javier and Raul; his sisters Rosario, Enedina and Dolores; and his granddaughter Gabriella.
Arturo retired from General Motors after 35 years of working for the assembly plant in Van Nuys, CA. He enjoyed watching his boys play sports, especially baseball at Sunset Little League where he spent many Saturdays watching them play. Countless people remember our dad for his famous two words, that he would scream just as his sons/grandchildren would be at the plate batting, “ADIOS PELOTA”!
After retiring, Arturo spent most of his free time doing God’s work. As a devote Catholic, he volunteered his time to the St. Anthony’s Parish community. He was a Eucharistic Minister and helped with prayer groups and anything that the parish needed.
