Artie R. Smith, 61, of Anderson, a simple man with a huge heart, passed away peacefully at home on March 15, 2019. He was born on September 2, 1957, in Anderson, where he resided all of his life.
He retired from General Motors in Marion. He was a member of a large loving family, the Moose Lodge #150, and the Dale Hollow Lake Community. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, boating, riding his Harley, camping, and all types of music, especially classic country, the Indianapolis Colts, and had a real passion for the History Channel. He was a great storyteller, always having a funny story to share.
Artie is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cindy (Quick) Smith; children, Brianna (Chris) Neylon, and Benjamin (Vanessa) Smith; grandchildren, Liam Neylon, Nora Neylon, Zoey Smith, Abel Smith, and Ayda Smith; siblings, Lynn (Les) Campbell, Ronnie (Kathie) Smith; sister-in-law, Kathy Smith; several nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy “Corky” and Charlene Smith; and his brother, Ricky “Smitty” Smith.
