Arthur Swetye Sr., age 86 of Damascus died at 1:47 p.m. Sunday, February 01, 2015 at the Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. He was born May 17, 1928 in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph and Madeline (Washic) Swetye. He was 1946 graduate of Salem High School. He was a self-employed paint contractor for over 40 years. Arthur was a former member of Damascus Ruritan. He enjoyed hunting, and fishing. He loved sports and never missed his children or grandchildrens events. He also loved to travel and spend time in Montana. His wife, Sonia Mae (McMichael) Swetye, whom he married May 8, 1948, preceded him in death September 2, 2013. Four brothers, Joseph, Ernest, Lawrence, and infant brother John; sister, Irene Patterson; and grandsons, Nolan T. Swetye and Alexander Rinyo also preceded him in death. Survivors include, three sons, Art (Marcia) Swetye Jr. of Circleville, Ohio, Mark Swetye of Bozeman, Montana, and Jeffrey (Kimberly) Swetye of Salem; two daughters, Jackie (Greg) Rinyo of Damascus and Cathleen (Joseph Sr.) Runyon of Salem; grandchildren, Ashley (Kyle) Babbitt, Abbee (Kelly) Skaggs, Ryan Swetye, Erin (Kim) Nezbeth, Rebecca Rinyo, Joe Jr., Travis, Casey and Kelsey Runyon; great-grandchildren, Kierra, Tessa and Beau Nezbeth; two sisters, Bernice Toman of Austintown, and Eleanor Brooks of Sharon, PA; a brother, Tom (Carole) Swetye of Salem.
