Mr. Arthur Sherburne, age 85, beloved husband of 57 years to Irene Vallas Sherburne of Milford, passed away on Thursday, September 03, 2009 in Milford. Son of the late Arthur and Lurlene Van Ness Sherburne, he was born in East Burke, VT. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Sherburne was an Electrician with BIC Corporation in Milford until his retirement. He had a love of the arts and used the GI bill to study at the Progressive School of Photography. He was a member of the Milford Art League where he served as the treasurer for many years and of the bowling league with the Milford Senior Center. He volunteered with the CT Special Olympics. In addition to his wife he leaves two daughters, Barbara Van Cisin and her husband Kennan of Huntington and Joyce Healey and her husband Robert of Milford and a son, John Sherburne of Huntington, and two grandsons, Robert Healey of New York and Timothy Healey of Maryland. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Timothy Vallas of East Haven, a sister-in-law, Alberta Sherburne of Oceanport, NJ, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Frederick Sherburne and a brother-in-law, Elliott Vallas.
