Arthur R. Milow, Jr., March 25, 1918 – June 28, 2012.

Arthur R. Milow, Jr. 94, of Temple. Mr. Milow died Thursday June 28, 2012 at a Temple nursing home. Mr. Milow was born March 25, 1918 in Elk Creek Nebraska, the son of Arthur R. and Ida Belle (Logsdon) Milow. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1941.

During World War II he served as Commanding Officer of the 643rd Bomb Squadron in the 409th Bombardment Group. He was a decorated pilot including the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 12 Oak Leaf Clusters and EAME with 6 Battle Stars. Battles include Ardennes Bulge, Southern France, Germany, Battle of Britain, and Normandy. He married his college sweetheart, Bette Ann Urquhart on December 13, 1941 in San Antonio.

The couple lived all over the world as he was a pilot for PanAm. They made their home in Columbia, Iran and Pakistan to name a few places they lived. They moved from California to Temple 7 years ago. Mr. Milow was a member of the Masons and Shriners. He was a founding member of the Ft. Hood Daedalians. He was a life member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Bette A. Milow of Temple, daughters Mardee Lake, Karen Milow-Wagstaff and husband Larry, Wendy Stork and husband Wayne, Sunny Havens and husband Doug, and Candace Falsetti and husband Nick. Eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
