Dr. Arthur E. Oemcke died in Stratford on October 16, 2014. Formerly of Milford, he was born in Waterbury, CT on April 21, 1921. The son of the late Daniel Oemcke Jr and Theresa Fitzgibbons Oemcke, he was a graduate of Naugatuck High School in 1938. He later served in the US Army Air Corps as a fighter reconnaissance pilot in Europe during WWII.
In August of 1945 he married Claire Mary DuBois of Naugatuck. He later received his under graduate from Yale and then a degree in dental medicine from Tufts University with which he opened his dental practice in Milford. He was a member of the Milford Dental Society, Board of Health, Rotary Club, ADA and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Claire, four daughters Donna Bonyai, Patricia Denno (James), Barbara Andujar (Peter) of Milford, Theresa Vesneski (Kenneth) of Beacon Falls, a son James Oemcke (Catherine) of Salem, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and his sister Eleanor Smith of LaQuinta, CA. He was predeceased by his sister Gertrude Jones of Naugatuck.
