Arthur Leonard Stiles of Dallas, Texas passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011 at age 70 in South Hampton Community Hospital, Dallas, Texas. Arthur, known as “Artie” or “Art”, was born June 24, 1941 in Clinton, Iowa. He was the only son of Erwin T. and Claudine (Lass) Stiles. He moved with his family to Big Lake, Texas in 1948 where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from Reagan County High School in 1959. His classmates remember him as funny and smart and he was known for his great sense of humor and smile. Art attended San Angelo Junior College and graduated from North Texas State University, Denton, Texas in 1964 with a B.B.A. in Marketing. He was a successful business man having had a long-time career in the insurance field. He was associated with Swett & Crawford as a Supervisor of Claims and with Crawford & Company as Claims Manager. He worked 3 years as a Broker followed by another stint with Crawford & Company as Assistant Vice-President, National Account Executive Department before retiring in 2006. During his years of employment he enjoyed the many opportunities for both national and international travel. Art was passionate about his work and was a member of several insurance related organizations. He married Doris Coleman in 1967. They were divorced in 2006. ` Art is survived by his sister, Barbara Stiles Hancock of Dallas; his daughter, Amy June Stiles, of Duncanville; a stepson, Louis Coleman, his wife, Laura and their daughter, Calle & son, Justin of Ovilla. Other survivors include one uncle, Mel Stiles of Maquoketa, Iowa and four cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
