Arthur was born on December 15, 1948 to the late Prince Sr. and Annie Daisy Ward. He professed his love and faith in Jesus Christ at an early age at Millwood Primitive Baptist Church where he has been a life-long member. He received his formal education from East Choctaw.
Immediately after high school he joined the United States Air Force and became a Purple Heart recipient. After an honorable discharge from the U. S. Air Force, Arthur embarked on a 42 year career with Naheola Mills currently known as Georgia Pacific. He was joined in holy matrimony to the late Fredonia Marzette Ward.
He enjoyed working with his hands, tilling the soil, and wiping the sweat from his brow. This also included herding his cattle.
Arthur was preceded in death by four brothers, Sampson, Willie Wesley, Prince Jr., and James Ward, Sr. and three sister, Mary Ella Ealey, Betty Ann Fitch, and Annie Kate Bradley.
Arthur leaves to cherish his memories loving daughters: Sonya (Ronald) Graham, Catina (Jimmy) Williams, grandson: Corwin Marzette, granddaughter: Miya Graham, all of Birmingham, AL, Brother: Raymond (Augusta) Ward, Choctaw, AL, Sister: Marie McGee, Choctaw, AL, Ida Bonhom, Beltsville, MD and Linda Harris, Bowie, MD, Sisters-in-Law: Aimee Ward, Tuscaloosa, AL, and Carrie Ward, Birmingham, AL.

Arthur was loved by many people, and will be remembered for his own saying… “Is dat right…4?!!”
